In the literature
Sermorelin is the synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide corresponding to the N-terminal 1-29 fragment of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), supplied as a lyophilized powder in a sealed vial.
GHRH(1-29) was identified as the shortest fully active fragment of the 44-amino-acid hormone (Rivier et al., Nature 1982); it is studied in cellular models as a GHRH-receptor ligand.
