Retatrutide in Portugal: status, sizes and lab reports
Retatrutide is the peptide most people in Portugal look for: « retatrutide portugal » is typed about twice as often as « peptides portugal ».
Most of the pages that answer it are written in Brazilian Portuguese, for a Brazilian reader, and spell it « retatrutida ». They describe clinical trials.
None of them tells a lab in Lisbon or Porto where a tested vial can be bought and how it gets there.
The facts first. Retatrutide (LY3437943) is an investigational peptide developed by Eli Lilly.
In laboratory models it acts on three receptors at once: GIP, GLP-1 and the glucagon receptor.
It is in phase 3 studies and has no marketing authorisation from the European Medicines Agency, so no pharmacy in Portugal stocks it and INFARMED lists no retatrutide product.
What reaches Portuguese labs is lyophilised powder in a sealed vial, sold as a research reagent.
For that powder, the useful document is a lab report tied to the size you buy. Ours come from Janoshik Analytical, one report per size:
| Vial | Price | Janoshik task | Purity (HPLC) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retatrutide 10 mg | €89.90 | 217194 | 99.316% |
| Retatrutide 20 mg | €149.90 | 217014 | 99.763% |
| Retatrutide 30 mg | €194.90 | 217015 | 99.713% |
Each task number can be typed into janoshik.com, which opens the lab's own copy of the report.
The vials are on the retatrutide 10, 20 and 30 mg page, and the long purchase guide is buy retatrutide in Europe. We publish nothing about use in people.
A shop that does is presenting an unauthorised medicinal product, which is the line INFARMED looks at.
What Google shows for « peptides Portugal »
Search « peptides Portugal » and the first page mixes four kinds of result. Small online shops sell vials from product pages of 150 to 300 words, often without a report for the size on sale.
Cosmetic brands sell collagen « peptide » creams and drinks, which have nothing to do with a research vial. Brazilian health portals explain retatrutida trials in Portuguese from Brazil.
And a few multilingual shops run a /pt/ copy of a store built for another country.
A Portuguese lab usually wants four answers that none of these gives on one page: does the vial ship from inside the EU, what does a milligram really cost, is there a report for this exact size, and what does Portuguese law say.
The sections below answer each, with our catalogue as the worked example and checks you can run on any shop.
Research peptides are laboratory reagents.
BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu or retatrutide powder is identified by its amino acid sequence and its molecular mass, and checked by HPLC and mass spectrometry.
They are bought online by labs, universities and independent researchers, and labelled for research use only.

Searching in Portuguese: péptidos, peptídeos, retatrutida
In Portugal, people search in two spellings.
European Portuguese writes « péptidos »; Brazilian Portuguese writes « peptídeos », and because Brazilian sites dominate the language online, « comprar peptídeos » and « retatrutida » bring up mostly Brazilian pages, with prices in reais and delivery that never reaches Europe.
This page is in English because many Portuguese labs work in English with international teams. If you prefer to read in Portuguese, the same information, written for Portugal and priced in euros, is on retatrutida em Portugal.
Delivery to Portugal: EU dispatch, customs and VAT
Where a parcel leaves from changes its cost more than the sticker price does. Since the EU removed its €22 low-value exemption, every parcel entering Portugal from outside the EU is taxed.
The Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira charges Portuguese VAT, 23 % on the mainland, on the value of the goods plus shipping.
Customs duty can apply on top, and the carrier adds its own clearance fee before handing the parcel over.
That applies to vials sent from the United Kingdom since Brexit, from the United States, from China and from Switzerland alike. Those parcels also wait in a depot while the paperwork is checked.
A parcel posted from another EU country crosses no customs border. Ours leave a warehouse in the European Union, in a plain sealed box with a tracking number, and are handed to the national post for the last mile:
| Parcel from the EU (OXpeptides) | Parcel from UK, US, China or Switzerland | |
|---|---|---|
| Customs declaration | none | yes |
| Portuguese import VAT | none at the door | 23 % on goods plus shipping |
| Carrier clearance fee | none | charged before delivery |
| Delivery time | 4 to 6 business days, tracked | varies with customs |
| Shipping | €9.90, free from €120 |
|---|---|
| Packaging | plain box, no product name outside |
| Returns | 30 days on sealed vials |
You pay in euros by card with 3-D Secure, without creating an account. A confirmation e-mail arrives at once and a second one with the tracking link when the parcel leaves. The country list sits on the shipping page.
Price per mg: how to compare shops selling to Portugal
A vial price on its own says little: a 5 mg vial and a 10 mg vial cannot be compared.
Divide the price by the milligrams on the label and compare vials of the same size. For retatrutide, our milligram costs €8.99/mg in the 10 mg vial, €7.50/mg in the 20 mg vial and €6.50/mg in the 30 mg vial.
The per-mg figure assumes the vial holds what the label says.
A « 10 mg » vial that contains 7 mg is the most expensive vial on the market per real milligram, whatever its sticker.
So a price comparison only means something between shops that publish a report giving the measured quantity for the size you buy.
Two more costs hide outside the sticker. A shop priced in pounds or dollars usually ships from outside the EU, so 23 % VAT and a clearance fee land on top at the door.
And a shop that charges low shipping but sends from Asia adds weeks to a research timeline. In our basket, the price per vial drops on its own from 3 and from 5 vials of the same size.
Other peptides that ship to Portugal
Beyond retatrutide, the table at the top lists what is in stock for Portugal today. A short guide to each:
- GHK-Cu. The copper tripeptide, glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to Cu²⁺, as a blue lyophilised powder. Our GHK-Cu 100 mg vial costs €59.90 (€0.60/mg), with Janoshik report 217016 for the lot on sale (99.603 % purity). Portuguese pharmacies sell copper peptide serums; those hold a fraction of a percent in a cosmetic base and are priced per millilitre, not per milligram. GHK-Cu vs AHK-Cu compares it with its sister peptide AHK-Cu.
- BPC-157 and TB-500. Two research peptides often studied side by side in tissue models. BPC-157 10 mg costs €54.90; the guide buy BPC-157 covers sizes and storage.
- KLOW. A research blend of GHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500 and KPV in one vial, explained on KLOW peptide.
- MOTS-c, Semax and Selank. A mitochondrial-derived peptide and two short peptides studied in neuroscience models, each in a single size.
Sealed vials keep best in a freezer at −20 °C, in their box, away from light and moisture. On arrival the seal should be intact and the powder dry. Lyophilized peptides storage covers shelf life in detail.

Bacteriostatic water in Portugal
Bacteriostatic water is water with 0.9 % benzyl alcohol, a preservative, supplied in a sealed glass vial as a laboratory diluent.
Portuguese laboratory distributors rarely list it in small quantities, and marketplace listings seldom show a lot number or the benzyl alcohol content.
On any vial, check for the words « bacteriostatic » and « 0.9 % benzyl alcohol », a sealed cap, a lot number and an expiry date on the label.
Ours, 3 mL at €10.90, ships in the same parcel as the peptides and adds nothing to the shipping cost: see bacteriostatic water and where to buy bacteriostatic water.
How to check a peptide seller from Portugal
Five checks, none of which needs an order:
- A lab report per size. One PDF for the smallest vial, reused for the larger ones, says nothing about the vial you buy.
- A verifiable report. A Janoshik report carries a task number and a key; typed on janoshik.com, they must open the same document the shop shows.
- A measured quantity, not only a purity. « 99 % pure » on 7 mg of a « 10 mg » vial is still 7 mg.
- Dispatch from the EU. Prices in pounds, dollars or reais usually mean customs at the door, or no delivery to Portugal at all.
- A clear return policy and card payment. Crypto-only checkout or a bank transfer to a private account are warning signs.
Instructions for people, testimonials or promised outcomes on a product page mean the shop is selling a medicinal product without authorisation.
The long version is how to check a peptide supplier, and each heading of a report is explained in Janoshik test report.
What Portuguese rules say about research peptides
In Portugal, INFARMED, the national authority for medicines and health products, decides what counts as a medicinal product and authorises its sale, within the EU framework set with the European Medicines Agency.
A product presented for use in people, with an amount to take or a promised outcome, is treated as a medicinal product and needs an authorisation.
Research peptides have none, which is why they can only be offered as laboratory reagents: labelled « for research use only », described by their chemistry, with no instructions for people or animals.
Parcels of unauthorised medicines ordered online, most from outside the EU, can be stopped by customs.
A reagent sold and labelled as such by an EU seller is a different case, but the line is drawn by how the product is presented, not by its name.
Athletes under anti-doping rules should know that the World Anti-Doping Agency lists BPC-157 (class S0) and TB-500 (class S2) as prohibited. This page is not legal advice; each institution's own rules apply to its lab.
For laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
